Magnolia Tree Facts: Heralding Spring Magnolias are a deciduous shrub and tree. It will illuminate your borders with a multitude of fragrant, strap-petaled, starry, flowers from March to April. Also called Star Magnolia, it is ideal for small to medium size gardens. No matter how large or small the variety, magnolia trees and bushes should be sheltered from strong winds. To flower well, they must receive at least half a day's sunshine. They prosper in well-drained, acid, neutral or alkaline soil. Dig in plenty of organic matter well ahead of planting for best results. Plant magnolia shrubs in March - April or June - September. Be sure to prune in May and June.
Maple Tree Facts: Maple trees come in various types. We sell Asian (Japanese), Hybrid, Norway, Red, Silver, Sugar, and Tartarian tree types. Maple trees are known for their flawless fall foliage, maple syrup, and overall classic beauty in the landscape. Its mature height is around 60 feet tall. Maple trees belong to the "Acer" genus, which means "sharp" in Latin, referring to its iconic maple leaf shape. Its highly prized wood is commonly used for musical instruments, baseball bats, cutting boards, pool cue shafts and bowling pins. Given their delicate beauty they are not difficult to grow. Maple, Acer, thrive in fertile, moist soil that is well-drained. They like partial to full sun. Regular pruning is not necessary, unless it's the Japanese type.
